Community Guidelines

The short version: Sidedoor is anonymous so you can speak honestly about work — not so you can do things you wouldn’t do at work. Bring the same professionalism here that you’d bring to a respectful workplace conversation.

What we’re going for

Sidedoor works when people can raise real concerns and share honest perspectives without fear. That only holds if the space stays respectful. These guidelines describe the conduct we expect from everyone here.

The guidelines

Keep it professional. Talk about issues, decisions, policies, and experiences — the kinds of things you could raise in a serious, good-faith workplace conversation.
Don’t name or attack specific coworkers. Speak to situations and behavior, not individuals. Don’t single out a specific person by name or by details that clearly identify them, and don’t use Sidedoor to harass, demean, or retaliate against anyone.
No harassment, hate, or threats. No content that harasses, threatens, or demeans people based on who they are.
Protect people’s privacy. Don’t post someone else’s private, personal, or identifying information.
Don’t share what isn’t yours to share. Be thoughtful about confidential information and material you’re not permitted to disclose.
No spam or self-promotion. Keep the feed about genuine workplace discussion.
Nothing illegal. Don’t post content that is unlawful or that encourages others to break the law.

About enforcement — an honest note

Sidedoor does not yet have moderation staff or automated content review. We are not able to actively monitor content or catch violations as they happen right now. Content that violates these guidelines may be removed, and access may be restricted, if a problem is brought to our attention — but we can’t promise that every violation will be seen or acted on, and we don’t review posts before they go up. We’re being upfront about this rather than implying enforcement we don’t have yet. As Sidedoor grows, we intend to add better tools for keeping the space healthy.

If you come across content that violates these guidelines, you can email admin@usesidedoor.app. We review reports on a best-effort basis. Because Sidedoor is anonymous by design, we can generally act on the content itself but can’t identify who posted it.
